Visa Crunch

VACs for Canada resume operation

Students holding a Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL) will be able to request a biometric appointment through the VAC webform as of midnight, June 17, 2021. Please fill out the webform to request an appointment:

Appointments for biometrics are completely free. Expired BILs will be accepted by VACs due to the delayed response. Applicants are requested to be patient if they have not received a BIL yet, according to the latest tweet by VAC.

Individuals travelling to Canada are still subject to travel restrictions. Clients may not be able to go to Canada at this time, even if they have a valid visa. Early July is likely to bring exemptions for fully vaccinated travellers who are qualified to enter Canada.

The current travel restrictions are still in effect. To prevent the coronavirus from spreading further in Canada, travel restrictions have been implemented at all border crossings.

However, due to high traffic, clients can expect processing delays. Applicants are requested to wait for confirmation of their appointments as sending numerous web form queries will just slow down the process and consume more time.

To safeguard Canadians’ health and safety, the Government of Canada adopts a cautious and responsible approach at the border, constantly monitoring and analyzing available data and scientific evidence.
