Canada: Manitoba is inviting 189 candidates to apply for nomination

In the most recent Provincial draw in Manitoba, around 189 invite for immigrants to apply for a provincial nomination to get permanent residence was issued.

Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Workers Overseas were the three streams from which the applicants were selected and invited by The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

The total number of invitations this year, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) are around 3671 this year.

This was Manitoba’s 99th draw since it was started 6 years ago.

The requirement criteria in this draw were as follow:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba – 160 LAAs with a minimum Express of Interest (EOI) score of at least 464.
  • Skilled Workers Overseas – 4 LAAs with a minimum EOI score of at least 847.
  • International Education – 25 LAAs with no minimum score required.

The Canadian express entry is an online system that is used to manage the applications of skilled workers for permanent residence and identifying which of them are eligible for the invite.

In this draw, 18 LAAs were issued to candidates from the express entry stream. Express entry invites are issued to a certain number of top-ranked candidates in the Express Entry pools to apply for their permanent residence and incorporates candidates from the three main economic classes managed by the Express Entry System that are – the Federal Skilled Workers Program, The Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates who are applying in Express Entry are then allotted a CRS score based on their age, work experience, education level, and proficiency in either English or French. In the process of selecting candidates to be invited for permanent residence, the CRS score remains the top priority and the primary factor. Those who get invited in the Provincial Nominee Program are automatically awarded 600 CRS points that virtually guarantees them to get an invite for Permanent Residence in future Express Entry draws.

Manitoba has an Expression of Interest system (EOI) with the MPNP, where the interested candidates must register and provide their human capital information. Candidates are scored out of a total of 1000 points based on their age, education, language proficiency, and work experience to be eligible to receive an LAA.
