148 immigrants are invited to apply for the new Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) welcomed 148 Express Entry candidates who scored at least 302 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Through the Alberta Express Entry stream, these candidates can now seek for a provincial nomination.

This draw featured fewer candidates and a somewhat higher CRS requirement than Alberta’s previous Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw earlier this month. Since resuming invitation rounds in January 2021, Alberta has invited 2,432 Express Entry applicants to file for a provincial nomination. In the latter months of 2020, it went on a brief pause.

In 2021, Alberta will be able to award 6,250 nomination certificates. A provincial nomination is not guaranteed to everyone who is asked to apply. Some people may not complete the application or may not fulfil the qualifying requirements. Similarly, not everyone who receives a nomination will become permanent residents, despite the fact that the great majority do.

The Alberta Express Entry stream allows the province to examine the federal government’s Express Entry candidate pool for profiles of persons who could be eligible for a provincial nomination. The Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program all use Express Entry as their application management system. You will be given a score based on the Comprehensive Ranking System if you are eligible for Express Entry (CRS).

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Canada’s immigration agency, performs Express Entry drawings on a regular basis, asking the top-scoring applicants to apply for permanent residency. It is possible to immigrate without a provincial nomination through the Express Entry system; however, those with lower CRS scores may choose to apply for a PNP. Provincial nominees receive an automatic 600-point boost to their total score. If the lowest-scoring applicants in the new Alberta lottery are nominated, their new CRS scores will be 900, which will be more than enough to be invited to the next Express Entry draw.

You must have work experience in a qualified occupation to be eligible for a provincial nomination under the Alberta Express Entry stream. The AINP does not give a list of jobs that are eligible for the stream; instead, it provides a list of occupations that are not.
