Ontario has closed the Master’s Graduate Stream applications. This news comes after Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) had opened its door for Master’s degree graduates to apply in their Provincial Nominee Program on 29th September.
The application managing system has been closed and is not accepting any new applications because the intake limit of 1215 applications was reached in just one day! This shows how many applicants are still trying to get nominated to achieve Permanent Residence in Canada even during the Pandemic.
Master’s graduate applicants who wished to apply had to register under the Ontario Immigration Program Nominee (OIPN) and were placed in entry pools with other candidates. To be eligible to get an Invite to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence, candidates had to provide personal details as well as their study and work experience details.
The Master’s graduate stream allowed international students who have attained a Master’s degree in Ontario without requiring a job offer to apply for the Provincial Nominee Program.
To be eligible, the applicants had to be graduated from a Master’s degree program from an eligible institution in Ontario. Should have a score of minimum language CLB/NCLC level 7 or above in English or French. Candidates were also required to be resided legally in Ontario for at least one year in the last two.
Candidates had to show that they have sufficient settlement funds and have legal status, and an intention to live and work in Ontario. Applications were required to be submitted within two years of graduating in the master’s degree.
There are still other streams which are accepting applicants such as
- Foreign Worker stream
- International Student stream
- In-Demand Skills stream
- Ph.D. Graduate stream
There is no guarantee about the time the above-mentioned streams will be open for new applicants as the intake limits have not been specified.
