On October 22, Nova Scotia has invited immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.
The draw’s eligibility criteria for Express Entry candidates has been released by The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) without providing information on the number invitations sent.
The eligibility criteria state that to apply for a Provincial Nominee Program in Nova Scotia, Candidates should have a primary occupation in primary occupation as computer programmers and interactive media developers, or NOC 2174. Candidates should be able to provide documents which prove that they have completed a program of two or more years of post-secondary studies at a university or college and should have two or more years of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience in any one of the two occupations in five years before applying as mentioned in the criteria. Also, candidates are required to submit proof of their English language proficiency with their Provincial Nomination application. If the educational credential is obtained outside of Canada, Candidates also have to include Educational Credential Assessment report issued by an organization designated by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
11:59 pm on November 21 is the last date for the invited candidates to submit their applications for the Permanent Residence.
Immigration candidates are selected based on the requirements of the province’s labor market and are invited by Nova Scotia’s Labor Market Priorities Streams.
Candidates should have a profile in Express Entry System to be considered for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia under Labor Market Priorities Streams.
Canada’s Express Entry System manages applications for Permanent Residence through three Federal Immigration Programs that are; The Federal Skilled Workers Program, The Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is used to rank Express Entry candidates based on certain factors like age, education, language proficiency in English or French, and work experience.
Candidates who have received letters of interest from Nova Scotia have up to 60 days to submit their application for provincial nomination.
Candidates will be awarded additional 600 CRS points when they receive their provincial nomination from Nova Scotia, which would mean they will be qualified to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence in the upcoming Express Entry draws.
