College credits at the high school level? Here’s how

GEMS Education, a K12 operator, has declared that its high school students will be able to earn college credits by enrolling in rigorous college-level, university faculty-taught courses.

Students will be able to structure their own flexible, tailored online pathway through a collaboration with Arizona State University in the United States, which the partners claim will prepare them for university success. If students choose to enroll at ASU to earn an undergraduate degree, they will save time and money by acquiring university credits, according to GEMS. The credits may also be transferred to any university that accepts them. GEMS Education’s group chief executive officer, Dino Varkey, said in a statement, “We are constantly looking for new ways to enhance the opportunities for our students as we prepare them for the exciting, tech-driven future that awaits them.”
