Canada to ease border rules for non-essential travelers shortly

In a major relief for travelers to Canada, Marco Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada said that fully- vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents will be able to enter Canada on August 9, 2021, for non- essential travel. Canada will also ease its border measures for all the fully- vaccinated, non- essential travelers on September 7, 2021, said the minister.

This comes as a big, good news for students who have been waiting since very long and despite the visa being granted were unable to travel for study purposes. The permanent citizens of America who have been stranded in other countries will now be able to travel to Canada starting August 9, 2021.

Canada had announced its plan to ease and relax quarantine restrictions on travelers and visitors, earlier last month. Starting August 9, it is expected that Canada will drop its quarantine requirements for American non- essential travelers and eventually, from September 7 onwards, for other international travelers.
