VFS Global has notified that it is temporarily stopping passport and visa service operations in Adelaide beginning January 18 till further notice, which is a crucial update for Indian visa applicants in Australia.
The worldwide visa processing agency made this choice because of an increase of Covid-19 instances in the region. It is also worth noting that VFS has ceased operations at its India Passport& Visa Services Centre (IPVSC) in Canberra beginning January 14, 2022, and continuing until further notification.
VFS Global stated in a statement that all consultations scheduled beginning January 18 have been discontinued and that only postal applications would be accepted for processing visa and passport services.
The company’s postal address is VFS Global, Sydney GPO Box 2892, SYDNEY, NSW 2001.
“We have a key update for our India passport & visa services customers in Adelaide, Australia. All appointments from today stand cancelled and only postal applications will be accepted for processing,” said VFS in a tweet.
Applicants are encouraged to visit the VFS website for more information. Due to the Covid-19 situation, VFS Global was previously notified that it will not accept any in-person applications for Indian visas in the US until further notice. However, Indian visa applicants can still apply by post or through VFS Global’s emergency visa services, which will restart in early December 2021.
The emergency service is available to US citizens of Indian descent and their family members who need to visit India due to a true family emergency, such as a critical sickness or the loss of a family member.
