Telugu Heartland’s Andhra Pradesh Sends More Students For Foreign Education From India

Many students go abroad to study for higher education, where they find employment and permanent residency. Students who go to foreign countries to study around the world are widely from India.

Nevertheless, the majority of the students who go abroad to study from India are from the state Andhra Pradesh (AP). According to the latest data, AP has been in the top place in foreign education from 2016 till now, with the highest inclination towards the US and the UK for higher education.

A total of 3.72 lakh students went to study abroad for education in 2016 from various parts of India.

About 12.43 per cent went from AP, while 4.57 lakh went abroad for study in 2017, 12.27 per cent went abroad from AP. About 5.21 lakh in 2018, 12.06 per cent in 2019, and 5.89 per cent in 2019.

About 11.79 per cent were AP residents. As many as 2.61 lakh students will go in 2020 and 13.62 per cent of them will be students from Andhra Pradesh.

The number of people going abroad has been declining over a few years due to the travel restrictions in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic.

Observers have predicted that the number of students will likely increase again as relaxation in travel restrictions are given to the international students.
