Canada issued invitations for the PGP 2020

IRCC has now given invitations to individuals chosen by lottery for the 2020 Parent and Grandparent program.

The Government of Canada has sent invitations to the Parents and Grandparents Program to apply for 2020.

Invitations are being dispatched to potential sponsors of parents and grandparents who had applied an Interest to Sponsor form during the 2020 application time frame.

In a press, IRCC stated that potential sponsors who had submitted a sponsorship application form yet have not received an email ought to deliberately check their junk mail or their inbox to check whether they have received an invitation. They can also use IRCC’s website to know the status of the invitation.

Around two weeks prior, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its PGP 2020 lottery and started conveying invitations over ten days. Potential sponsors who received an invitation now have 60 calendar days to present a full application to sponsor their parents and grandparents.

It is also noticed that PGP keeps on being prevailing and that “the quantity of individuals keen on supporting parents and grandparents consistently surpasses the number of applications we can accept.” Individuals who had submitted a sponsorship application form in 2020 yet not chosen to apply in the 2020 round; are prompted to repeat for the program of 2021.

Canadian residents and permanent residents can sponsor their parents or grandparents to Canada under the PGP.
