Travelers from foreign countries planning to visit Ireland are no longer subject to entrance restrictions, as the country’s authorities have agreed to remove all limitations imposed by the COVID-19.
The Irish government has stated that visitors from foreign countries will no longer be needed to show confirmation of vaccination or recovery from the Coronavirus. They are also free from filling out the Passenger Locator Form (PLF), according to SchengenVisaInfo.com.
The Irish government has confirmed that visitors from other countries would be able to enter Ireland without restrictions beginning March 6.
“There are no post-arrival testing or quarantine requirements for travelers to Ireland. Travel carriers will not ask to check a PLF receipt prior to traveling to Ireland. Any individual that develops Covid-19 symptoms while in Ireland should follow the HSE (Health Service Executive) guidance in relation to isolation and undertaking antigen or PCR testing as appropriate,” the Irish government pointed out through a statement.
Furthermore, any travelers planning to transit via Ireland to visit Northern Ireland must still adhere to UK travel restrictions, including completing a United Kingdom Passenger Locator Form. According to World Health Organization (WHO) estimates, officials in Ireland have documented a total of 1,311,105 instances of Coronavirus infection since the start of the pandemic, with a total of 6,527 people dying over the same time period.
According to WHO data, a total of 23,269 persons in Ireland have tested positive for the Coronavirus in the last seven days, while 56 people have died within the same period. Following in the footsteps of other European countries, authorities in Ireland have eased the majority of restrictions placed as a result of the Coronavirus in an effort to assist numerous industries, particularly the travel and tourism sector, in recovering from the virus’s impact.
In this context, Irish officials previously declared that they would allow Irish passport holders who received the booster dose outside the European Union to qualify for the new COVID-19 certificate. Additionally, despite the pandemic situation and rapid spread of the Omicron form in Ireland and other countries, officials in Ireland declared last month that they had chosen to relax most of the remaining restrictions as of February 28.
According to Irish authorities, the latest modifications include the removal of the obligation to wear a face mask. Furthermore, the physical separation measures were lifted.
