Erasmus+ is the European Union’s program to support education, training, youth, and sport throughout Europe. It is anticipated to have a budget of €26.2 billion. When compared to its previous program, this is approximately double the money (2014-2020).
The program 2021-2027 has a particular emphasis on social inclusion, green and digital transformations, and encouraging young people to participate in democratic life. It contributes to the aims and actions outlined in the European Education Area, the Digital Education Action Plan, and the European Skills Agenda. In addition, the program
- supports the European Social Rights Pillar
- carries out the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027
- enhances the European component of the sport
The European Commission (the EU’s executive body), the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), a series of National Agencies in Programme nations, and a series of National Offices in some Partner countries operate the Erasmus+ program. The European Commission’s European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) is in charge of managing the program’s “centralized” parts.
