Environmental Engineering is a branch of engineering that emphasizes using technology to tackle environmental problems. After studying this subject, you can become a policymaker and regulate environmental laws to make sure the correct safety of individuals and also the environment.

Studying Environmental Engineering:

  • You must clear your 12th Board or any equivalent exams with a minimum of 50% aggregate and Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology as mandatory subjects.
  • On completion of your board exams, you would have to clear one among the entrance exams to get enrolled to BTech courses in Environmental Engineering
  • There are different streams in which you can pursue a BTech degree like in Civil, Production, Food Technology and Chemical Engineering courses and then can apply for PG course in Environmental Engineering.

For getting enrolled to NITs, CFTIs and various other engineering institutes, you need to pass the JEE Mains exam organized by the National Testing Agency. This exam also is the test for JEE Advanced clearing which you may be eligible for admission to IITs and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.

Eligibility: You need to pass your Class XII board exams or equivalent exams with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects. You need a 75% average in your board exams to become qualified for admission to IITs, NITs and GFTIs.

Joint entrance exam Advanced (JEE Advanced)

This exam is essential for admission to IITs and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. You need to clear JEE Main to look for this exam.

Eligibility: You have to be one of the highest 2,50,000 successful candidates (in all categories) within the JEE BE/BTech paper (Main). Moreover, you can apply for JEE Advanced twice in two years.

West Bengal Joint entrance examination (WBJEE)

You need to clear WBJEE organized by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board for admission to non-public and government engineering institutions within the state.

Eligibility: You need to pass your Class XII board exams with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as needed subjects. Consequently, you have to pass your 10+3 diploma exams with Maths as a required subject

Moreover, you need a minimum of 50% marks in each of the desired subjects and 50% aggregate.

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Aptitude Test (BITSAT)

For admission to the BTech course offered by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Aptitude Test, you have to clear BITSAT.

Eligibility: You need to clear your Class XII board exams with Chemistry, Physics, and Maths/Biology as mandatory subjects.

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering entrance exam (VITEEE)

You must clear VITEEE for getting admission to the Vellore Institute of Technology engineering course in Environmental Engineering.

Eligibility: You need to pass your Class XII board exams with Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology as mandatory subjects.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education Online test (MAHE-OEE)

You need to clear the Manipal Academy of upper Education Online entrance exam (MAHE-OEE) for getting admission to the Manipal Academy of higher Education BTech course.

Eligibility: You need to pass your Class XII board exams with Chemistry, Physics, and Maths/Biology as mandatory subjects.

MTech entrance exam for Environmental Engineering:

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)

For admission to MTech courses in Environmental Engineering at IITs, NITs and other institutes, you must clear GATE.

Eligibility: You have to complete your BTech course. You will be able to appear for the exam even if you are in the last year of your BTech course.
