After grappling with the pandemic for two years, countries across the world are gearing up to return to normalcy. A number of countries have also scrapped almost all Covid-related restrictions to facilitate hassle-free travel and boost tourism.
If you have been waiting to plan an international trip, here’s a list of countries that have recently dropped almost all Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Iceland
The Icelandic authorities also announced that all travellers, regardless of their recovery and vaccination status, would now be allowed to enter the country without the requirement to follow any restrictions.
The Icelandic authorities informed, “All COVID-19 measures at the Icelandic border have now ended. Thereby, no COVID-19 prevention measures will be in place at the border, regardless of whether individuals are vaccinated or unvaccinated.”
Mexico
Mexico’s relaxed approach to Covid-19 travel rules in terms of testing, quarantine, and vaccination has remained consistent throughout the pandemic. This approach has allowed most part of the country’s business to operate as usual.
As per the reports, international travellers can now enter Mexico without the requirement to provide vaccination certificates and negative test results. Also, no quarantine is in place, and entry requirements for pleasure and business travel are only to fill a health questionnaire. Plus, almost everything is open for tourism within the country.
Slovenia
Slovenia has ended most of its travel restrictions. Reports have it that travellers can now visit the territory of Slovenia without the requirement of showing a recovery or vaccination certificate, or a negative test result.
Earlier in February, the Slovenian authorities added, “As of February 19, 2022, restrictions due to Covid-19 no longer apply when entering Slovenia. This means that the RVT (recovered/vaccinated/tested) condition no longer has to be met at the border, and travellers will no longer be ordered to quarantine at home.”
Norway
The charming nation of Norway has also lifted almost all its entry rules. Reportedly, since February 12, all visitors, including those who have recovered, who have not been vaccinated, or tested, are allowed to travel to the country without thinking about the entry measures.
As per the statement of the Norwegian authorities, “No testing, no quarantining, no registration! As of February 12, 2022, all COVID-19 entry requirements have been lifted for all travellers to Norway.”
Also, all other restrictions have also been lifted, such as there is no need to wear a face mask anywhere in the country, where social distancing rules have also been lifted.
El Salvador
El Salvador reopened for international travellers in late 2020. During that time, the concerned authorities had entry requirements in place which required all arrivals to provide a negative PCR test report as a condition for entry, which was later updated indicating that fully vaccinated travellers can enter the country without the need to produce test results.
However, as per the reports, both the requirements were subsequently dropped, and all international travellers can now enter El Salvador without the need to produce any sort of COVID credentials or undergo quarantine.
Switzerland
Are you visiting Switzerland from an area or country with a variant of concern? If yes, you will likely be required to complete an entry form, get tested, and undergo quarantine. And, if you are not travelling from any such area, you will be exempted from the Covid-19 test and the requirement of quarantine. Plus, travellers are no longer required to fill out the passenger locator form.
Costa Rica
Travellers entering by air, sea, or land are no longer required to present a negative Covid-19 test, nor are they required to undergo quarantine upon arrival. However, do note that unvaccinated travellers will not be allowed to enter commercial establishments, such as hotels, bars, restaurants, shopping malls etc.
