New Immigration Pathway introduced by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Newfoundland and Labrador province of Canada is located in the Far east region of Canada and consists of two landmasses which are called Newfoundland and Labrador. Due to the availability of energy and resources, the economy in this province is booming. The economy of this province is growing rapidly and the industries which contribute towards economic growth are financial services, healthcare, mining, fishing, oil production, and manufacturing.

The province’s government has announced the introduction of a new immigration pathway on November 18th. This new pathway is introduced to provide the status of permanent residence to the new immigrants who are already based in the province.

Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador is the name of the immigration pathway. The program will be launched on January 2, 2021, and it will work under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) which will prioritize highly educated and highly skilled candidates who have specialized work experience in the in-demand industries. This new immigration pathway will help in filling the gaps in the labor market and will provide employers in high-growth sectors and industries with skilled and experienced workers.

Eligibility Criteria for Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador:

• Candidates should be Masters or Ph.D. graduates of Memorial University and are required to have graduated within the last three years with a degree related to information and communication technology, ocean technology, healthcare, agriculture, and aquaculture.
• Candidates are required to be proficient in English and should submit proof of their English proficiency exam result while applying.
• Applicants will be considered if they are professionals with work experience in the following occupations:
