Countries offering education at a minimal cost to international students

International students and their parents will agree that the cost of studying abroad is one of the major factors that affect their choice of where to study. Therefore, here is a shortlist of countries that offer a renowned and balanced education at extremely affordable rates.

Germany

Germany has gained traction over the years in the international student community for being an extremely affordable country to pursue higher education, not only because of the low and affordable living costs but also because most German public institutions provide education to German and International students free of cost. A minimum administration fee of about 250-350 euros has to be paid. However, it has to be kept in mind that many times, these courses tend to be taught in German, so it would be advisable to check up on requirements and appropriately prepare!

France

Many universities in France provide lucrative scholarships and bursaries to international students, to reduce their financial burden. These scholarships can range anywhere from the neighbourhood of €7000 to all the way up to €21000. Moreover, apart from the glamorous capital city of Paris, living in France is quite affordable. Again, it is recommended that students thoroughly know the requirements of their course, and if needed learn the French language before departing for the land of the French!

Austria

Austria is another European country that offers International students the same benefits as EU/EEA students. While students are allowed to study for free, a minimum fee must be paid per semester, but this too is quite minimal at about €360. Living in Austria however can be a challenge for some, owing to the fact that students may have to get used to a diminished international student presence.

Czech Republic

Czech universities also offer free education to international students, however with one caveat – the language of instruction has to be the local language. However, international students still head to the beautiful capital of the Czech Republic, Prague to complete their formal education due to the fact that fees for English instruction courses are still very affordable, compared to other countries, ranging from around €4000 to €12000 per annum.
