All six of the public universities in Singapore now accept the C1 Advanced Qualification from Cambridge Assessment English as proof of English language ability.
Every year thousands of students apply to study at the prestigious public universities in Singapore, and they can now prove they meet the strict English language entrance criteria with C1 Advanced. C1 Advanced, developed by experts in Cambridge, is an in-depth qualification that covers the key English language skills needed to study at the university level. It is set at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), the international standard of language ability.
The universities in Singapore now recognising C1 Advanced include the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Nanyang Technological University Singapore, both top-ranking universities according to the Asia QS Ranking for 2021.
‘Singapore’s public universities get thousands of international applicants every year, and they have to ensure that students have very high levels of English language skills,’ commented Carmen Le, Recognition Manager for Australasia, Japan & South Korea.
Le continued: ‘Our C1 Advanced qualification is ideal for this purpose as it covers the key English skills that students need for success at university. Students who have achieved a C1 Advanced have the skills they need to take part in lectures, tutorials and seminars. This gives them a real confidence boost to be able to face the communications challenges posed by academic life.’
The six public universities in Singapore join a growing list of over 25,000 organisations, employers and governments around the world which accept Cambridge English Qualifications.
