A Historic Draw Is Expected For Immigration In Canada During March-April 2022: ISA Global Director

With around 4% of Canadians being of Indian origin, Canada has one of the largest communities of Indian origin in the world (about 1.4 million people).

According to recent immigration patterns, applicants from India account for the majority of PR visas given by Canada under the Express Entry system. As the pandemic subsides and normalcy resumes, people considering immigration to Canada are hoping for some positive news.

The experts of ISA Global, India’s largest immigration services organization, predict a historic draw in March-April 2022. This timeframe appears to be appropriate because there has recently been precedent. When the world was battling against the pandemic in early 2021, Canada made a significant CEC draw.

For the applicants who have not heard about CEC, it stands for Canadian Experience Class, which includes candidates who want to apply for permanent residence and are already working in Canada (usually after completing their studies in Canada).

Normally, 5,000 people are invited to enter a draw, but this one was unique. It was massive, with 27,332 invitations! And the cut-off point was only 75. If you’re familiar with Canada’s point system, you realize how incredible it is in comparison to standard cut-offs. At the time, a large CEC draw made sense.

Canada has promised to grant permanent residency to over 4,00,000 foreign nationals by 2021. These 27,000 applicants were already in Canada and so within their bio bubble when the virus raged. It made more sense to invite these applicants rather than grant visas to foreign nationals who were already outside the country and would have had to go to Canada, which would have been impossible owing to travel limitations.

As the outbreak subsided, there was the anticipation of a larger draw for FSW candidates, but Prime Minister Trudeau called emergency elections, pushing the chance of such a draw to next year.

New quotas for the coming year are implemented in Canada’s immigration system on January 1st. Based on Canada’s three-year immigration strategy published in 2020, the quota for 2022 is estimated to be a whopping 4,11,000.

With a smaller number of CEC candidates remaining after the unprecedented 2021 draw, Canada will be forced to open the floodgates for FSW invites if the government is to reach its 2022 objectives. Applicants should expect a historic FSW draw in March or April of 2022. This huge draw would also result in significant PNP modifications in the coming months.

For applicants who are interested in migrating to Canada, 2022 is projected to be a fantastic year for PR candidates. If you are genuinely considering immigration but have not yet begun the procedure, you should act soon because time is of the essence.

The pre-requisites for submitting an Express Entry application, like educational assessment, are taking longer than usual. Also, when it comes to the English test, it is best to take it right before the deadline to ensure that the application is in the Express Entry pool for the maximum possible time.
