International students and temporary foreign workers with Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles were encouraged to apply for a provincial nomination.
On June 16, the province of Ontario hosted a fresh immigration draw, asking 940 people to apply for a provincial nomination.
Candidates with profiles in the new EOI pool were invited by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Candidates may have been eligible for one of two types of Employer job offers.
A total of 569 people were invited to participate in the Foreign Worker Stream. A score of at least 38 was required for these candidates. There were no specific vocations or geographic restrictions for this draw.
The remaining 371 were asked to apply for an international student stream nomination, to be invited, these individuals needed an EOI score of at least 66.
Job Offer from the Employer: Foreign Worker Stream:
Foreign nationals with an eligible employment offer from a business in Ontario can apply for the Ontario Foreign Worker Stream under the Employer Job Offer category. As long as you fulfill the qualifying conditions, you are not required to apply from within Canada.
Among other requirements, you must have finished a program at a Canadian designated learning institution, have an acceptable employment offer in Ontario, and plan to immigrate to the province.
To be considered for this program, you must first create an EOI profile on the Ontario website. After that, your profile will be added to the EOI pool, and the applicant will be given a score depending on the data provided. Human capital characteristics that the province has concluded will reflect the capacity to integrate into the labor market are given points.
How to get points for immigration to Ontario?
Ontario rates EOI profiles according to a set of human capital criteria that the province has determined are essential in identifying immigrants with the ability to succeed. Your job offer’s skill level, as well as the Canadian work experience, get you points. The province assigns points using the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
Depending on whatever stream one applies for, the OINP scoring methodology differs. It considers your pay, education, official language proficiency, and location proficiency, and the location in which they study or work, in addition to the skill level and job experience.
