Canada approves Coronavirus vaccine as it aims to increase immigration

The coronavirus crisis in Canada is set to end as the Canadian government has recently announced that it has approved the vaccine for Coronavirus on December 9, 2020.

Canada has approved a vaccine that has been developed by Pfizer and BioNTech manufacturing. In a recent news release, Health Canada has stated that “the approval of the vaccine is supported by evidence that it is safe, effective and of good quality.”

In the news release, Health Canada has also stated that it has issued market authorization with terms and conditions on Pfizer-BioNTech which are:

  • Monthly safety monitoring reports containing information about side effects.
  • Further data on the safety and effectiveness of the drug including final data from ongoing clinical trials.
  • Further quality data confirming there are processes and controls in place to ensure vaccines of suitable quality are being produced.

After Bahrain and UK, Canada has become the third country in the world to authorize a vaccine.

In a tweet, Canada’s PM Justin Trudeau has stated that:

“30,000 doses are expected to arrive as early as Monday at the 14 points of shipment across the country. Up to 249,000 doses are coming this month, with millions more in the new year.”

Canada has signed contracts with 7 companies and has secured 414 million doses of vaccines as it is the leading country in the world with most doses of vaccines secured on a per capita basis.

Hopefully, the approval of the vaccine will result in the flattening of the Covid-19 curve and will pave way for a better economy and also lifting of travel bans which are in place from March 2020 and will boost the immigration rate.
